The EID Photo Essay Contest is an annual contest for PSA members. A photo essay utilizes a series of images to communicate a single purpose or tell a story. The photo essay may include music, narration, transition effects and rolling text. The annual Photo Essay Contest is chaired by the EID Director of Photo Essay Contest, Nancy Sams, FPSA, EPSA.

Here are the details for the 2008 EID Photo Essay Contest:

• Awards
  • 1st Place: Gold Medal and paid PSA membership for one year.
  • 2nd Place: Silver Medal.
  • Thee (3) Honorable Mentions: HM Ribbon.
• Winning essays will be presented at the 2008 PSA International Conference of Photography in Portland, Oregon.
• Entries must be received no later than June 1, 2008.
• Essay maximum running time is ten (10) minutes.
• The number of images in the essay is unlimited.
• There are no restrictions on subject matter, content, dissolve, transitions or special effects.
• Essays must be viewable on a MS Windows or Apple Macintosh operating system.
• Entries may be entered on CD or DVD media.
• Entrants who wish to have their media returned must include return postage or the media will not be returned.
• The entry fee is $5.00 which must be included with the completed Entry Form and media.
• Make checks payable to PSA.
• Mail the completed entry form (see below) with media and payment to the following address:
